Lovely Resident Evil Bundle... 'Resident Evil Essentials'

For those of you who own a PS2 or comapatable PS3 and are lucky enough to live in the US, our good friends at Capcom have got a nice little present for you! For less than thirty bucks you can pick up this lovely Resident Evil bundle. The game pack contains two of my favourite ever games: RE:CV and RE4. OK RE: Outbreak wasn't quite so great (I've never completed it, but do own it) but the other two are classics...
Here's what you get for your money...

Available Platforms:Playstation®2

Resident Evil® Outbreak: The outbreak has begun. You have only moments to spare before Raccoon City erupts into complete virus-infested chaos. Play as one of the eight survivors, online cooperatively or offline, against crushing zombie hordes!

Resident Evil® Code Veronica® X:Welcome to Rockfort Island, private isle of Umbrella Corp and home to the beauteous Spencer Mansion and Ashford Family Palace. Too bad the inhabitants aren't very hospitable...

Resident Evil® 4 Take the role of Leon S. Kennedy as he investigates the abduction of the President’s daughter, leading him to a mysterious European location where unimaginable horrors await!
Not bad eh? I'd definitely pick this up if I were you!

Great pack! The only thing better than this would be a "complete RE experience" pack, with Outbreak 2, Gun Survivor 2 and Dead Aim (or even the first PSX ones, since every PS2 is retrocompatible, unlike the PS3...).

Hmmm... not a bad deal at all... now, let's port it to the Wii...

Outbreak 2, Gun Survivor 2 and Dead Aim? You can't be serious Neba. Oh, dear God. Those games were worse than my last sexual encounter.

@ Nebacha... Yep! I agree, if we're really gonna do a revisionist pack why not up the price to $50 and throw in the whole shebang!

@ my dear friend Gnome... Yep! I agree! Why not throw the whole package onto the Wii and make the Gun Survivor series compatable with the Wii-mote? It might save the reputation of the series!

RE:CV Gun Survivor is not as bad as you think... With decent Light Gun controls this would not have been the disaster it is reputed to be... I actually liked it!

BTW Funnyman, I think you need to expand on the whole 'My last sexual encounter' thang... :)

Junlee said...

Yes funnyman, do explain this "encounter" of yours, LOL!

But this actually seems pretty cool for the price.

What is with a fugly prostitute...? Dunno, just guessing...lol

Oh, and I'm pretty sure Gun Survivor will make it to the Wii one way or another...

The Sports Satirist said...

No, it had nothing to do with a prostitute or a video game. I am talking about real life. Instead of explaining what really transpired in regards to my last sexual encounter, I will just speak in an ambiguous metaphor. Let's just say that I was tempted by a forbidden fruit, but the end result was sloppy. Since all of our blogs are family oriented, I cannot say much more than that.

By the way Neba, the PS3 is backwards compatible. I wouldn't have sold my PSX and PS2 if it wasn't.

Only the first models are fully retrocompatible. Soon after, to drop manufacture costs, Sony stopped including the PS2's Emotion engine on the PS3, leaving only the main processor, which resulted in just about 50% compatibility with PS2 games, and after that they eventually stripped all the PS2 hardware from the PS3.

If you buy a PS3 nowadays you won't be able to play any PS2 game on it.

Yeah, that's why I'm glad I picked up an 80GB while they were still out! :D

The Sports Satirist said...

It isn't just the first models that are backwards compatible Neba. The 20 and 60 gigs are also backwards compatible. I am not sure what kind of PS3s are sold in your country. But in the USA, it is still plausible to buy plenty of PS3s that are backwards compatible.

I still want to know more Funnyman... We're all gentleman friends here... Spill the beans dude! (If that's not too close to the truth to comment)

PS We've all revealed ourselves photographically on our little pen pal arena... When are we going to get to see the Funnyman?
