No More Heroes

You can't seem to go anywhere in the blogosphere at the moment without people getting all hot under the collar about GTA IV. Personally, I just can't get excited by it. On Saturday I bought 'No More Heroes', the universally acclaimed cell shaded oddyssey of anti-hero, wannabe assassin and cyber punk, Travis Touchdown. This highly original game (described in N-Gamer, -where it acheived a stellar rating of 94%- as "a love letter to gamers") has all the killing, sassy chicks and riding around the city that I need. I can honestly say that this game holds TONS more appeal for me than GTA IV and I will not be in any rush to go out and buy Rockstar's trump card for 2008... (Cue derisory comments from Funnyman... and yes, as far as I know you cannot have sex in this game...)

Having said that, I'm also totally sucked into the world of the Gamecube Resident Evil remake, so I'm having to divide my time between the two. But for the first time in a long time, the Wii is satisfying all my gaming needs and the 360 has been somewhat left behind.

I'm not fussed by GTA at ALL. I don't see what the fuss is about. I loved Vice city and found San Andreas to be annoying.

Every shop sold out of GTA IV on Tuesday. My mate was trying to find a copy of it and was having no luck. Seeing as I was in the vicinity of a HMV, GAME and a Zavvi, I said I'd check them out for him - but they'd all sold out.

I'd like to play the game, but I don't feel this need to have it and buy a console just to play it.

I personally have found every GTA I have played to be extremely overrated. They were all the same...start out fun as hell, and then get boring. I've yet to finish one.

I'm going to hope that GTAIV is a different experience for me, because by the way it sounds, there's actually a good story this time around and a main character that you can care about.

About No More Heroes...I loved that damn game (as I said in my review!). The game has so much style, and great dialog! And the "real" ending is soooooooooooo good!!!

I can't wait to hear your views about the game when you finish it fatherk! :)

So far the missions in IV seem pretty good and fun... I might have to give this No More Heroes a try... Sounds interesting.

I have to admit to really enjoying the first GTAs and to being immensely impressed by the way GTA 4 seems to visualize city life, BUT I 'll agree with you and the enlightened crowds Father. No More Heroes is by far the better game!

My eldest son (Joe) just forked out fifty sterlings for this game and has played it relentlessly in my presence and it seems as boring as all of the rest of the franchise... Except as well as the annoying GTA soundtrack of old, the 360 allows him to play the game whilst listening to some of the more annoying 'grime' tunes he seems so fond of...

I'm either really old or new music is shit. Plus I'm letting him and his girlfriend share a room tonight for the first time...

Life used to be so simple...LOL!

Nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!

Never leave a young lad alone with a girl! She might hurt him, or so I hear. Make sure he always has to girls at least. Always. Two.

No More Heroes is probably the only game I would like to play on a Wii (SMG also looks fun, but...meh...).

Better than GTA IV? Dunno...

I only know that I'm having fun with it, but didn't touched it for the whole weekend, to busy playing another game. Guess which?...

IceWind Dale, fuck yeah!

Oh, and good advice, gnome, good advice... xD

Well, I've been obseving my son playing GTA IV and it looks like every other GTA.

I on the other hand have been battling a psychotic 'super-hero' (Destroy Man,) and a camouflage bikini clad beauty with a machine gun for a leg.

In between I've been zooming around on my Jet Powered motorbike, picking up litter and working in a gas station and mowing lawns to earn enough money to enter my next assassin contest!

It's gaming heaven...
